MLS Next has awarded San Francisco Seals with a full age group pathway in the Homegrown Division!
SF Seals will field six MLS Development teams, including U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, and U19 teams that train 3 times a week and play league games. Additionally, we have systematically added a U12 pre-MLSNext age group which will play NPL, under the NorCal Premier banner.
The SF Seals MLS Next partnership focuses on creating an elite training environment for top-tier players to develop and compete at the highest level of youth soccer. Seals are the only MLS Next club, in San Francisco, to provide a low cost playing model. Seals are committed to broadening the playing field by increasing opportunities for all talented soccer players. Players pay for the cost of their uniforms and reduced club fees that cover league registration and practice field rentals.
Seals participation in MLS Next Homegrown Division means our players will be exposed to the highest level of competition and training opportunities. We are proud to offer an elite coaching staff comprised of experienced professionals who are dedicated to player development and fostering the potential of our players. Together we are shaping the future of youth soccer in the SF Bay Area, and we invite your player to join us.

About MLS Next Homegrown Division
The Seals are proud members of the MLS NEXT Homegrown Division! The MLS NEXT Homegrown Division name reflects its direct connection to the MLS Player Pathway, serving as the top level of competition in the program. Every MLS academy will compete in the Homegrown Division alongside 122 MLS NEXT Elite Academies (non-MLS academies), creating a platform for the most talented young players in North America to test themselves and prepare for the next level in their careers, with many each year going on to sign their first professional contracts as MLS Homegrown players.
Youth Soccer Reimagined
With a commitment to innovation and providing access and representation, MLS NEXT players receive the best training and coaching as they prepare for their futures, both in soccer and in life. Teams travel nationally and train for 10 months.
Currently offered for boys but girls may be rostered. Seals are proud to offer players - from all socio-economic backgrounds - discounted registration fees. We believe in evening out the playing field for all talented youth to participate at the highest level of youth soccer.
What's not included in registration are as follows (and not limited): uniforms, player travel fees for practice, games and tournaments, overnight accommodations, tournament fees (ex. MLS FEST), coaching fee, coach's travel, lodging and meals for overnight stays, if any).
* Seals U16, U17, and U19 age groups are required to participate in the league's National showcase: MLS NEXT FEST. The showcase is attended by over 500 college, national team, and professional scouts.
The Next Generation
While winning games will always be important, MLS NEXT believes success is measured by the growth and development of each player – becoming a better player, growing as a person, attending college and signing a professional contract are the true benchmarks of their success.
