SF Seals was founded in 1981 as a local, recreational team that reached competitive heights.  15 former Seals youth players have gone on to play for the National Team.  An astounding 43 players who have worn the Seals shirt have gone on to play professionally for teams all around the world.

In 1987, SF Seals featuring our Director of Coaching Shani Simpson was named "The USA's Team of the Year" by USA Today.  That amateur team went on to beat MLS's San Jose Clash on it's way to US Open Cup semi-finals.

The SF Seals supports the passions of our youth players and understands that being on a team and working together to grow and learn is important to youth development.  Our soccer program is aligned with the U.S. Soccer Development Academy guidelines established to help players learn and compete in the global world of soccer.

SF Seals Core Values are:

  • Emphasis on skill development over winning
  • Developing a love of the game and having fun
  • Sportsmanship, teamwork, respecting others and honoring the game
  • Positive culture for players, coaches and parents

The SF Seals program is currently managing approximately 15 teams, boys and girls, from U8-U20 plus a highly competitive U23 college prep program. We currently have NorCal competitive teams, SFYS recreational teams, and SFYS CCSL Prep teams. Recreational teams may be school based. CCSL Prep and NorCal teams are not exclusively school based. All teams are coached by professional coaches, both in practice and game day.

A big thank you to the SF Seals Volunteer Administrators and Team Managers to make sure your experience with our club is relatively smooth.
